How can we reduce pollution in India, so we can reduce global warming?
As we all know, global warming is real and if we don’t stop it serious damage could take over the world-India’s population is very large and it counts for a large amount of pollution-So how can we reduce pollution in India? I thought about making traffic rules, so cars dont speed away and leave fumes everywhere but I think that isn’t very good. What do you think?
Monkey M. . .you know what you said about birth control? That’s true but mean. . . I woulda chosen u for best answer . . .but that idea of ‘punishing’ is cruel!
India’s population has nothing to do with global warming and neither does man made CO2.
Invent vehicles that run on water.
Flick Off!! Turn off useless lights
very good question… i agree with you i give u a star… but i feel if countrys stop sending aid to there starving children… let god take care of the problem.. maybe send them birth control pills instead of food and guns…. or send them guns that explode or somthing
India should develop its mass transit as much as possible
Other than Population control, Heavily tax gasoline and automobiles. The auto industry is trying to create cars under $5,000 for the india market. The problem is that India does not have the roads to accomadate the cars they do have. The overcrowded streets waste alot of gasoline. People sit in India’s roads for 2 hours to travel what should be 15 minutes. Instead, India should build mass transit like subways to get people to work. Building more roads might eleviate the problem in the short run, but It would encourage more people to buy car and waste even more gas.
The #1 Thing India can do is build their buildings with proper insulation.
India is industrializing itself very quickly but by not building with proper insulation India is squandering a massive amount of energy on Airconditioners. Any cooling accomplished by the HVAC is lost with out proper insulation.
Why pick on India, many other countries pollute as much or even more, global warming is a natural occurrence, there have been many ice ages in Earths history and of course many thaws which have been caused by global warming but the motor car has only been around for just over one hundred years, governments are using global warming to increase taxes, look on the Internet for "The Great Global Warming Swindle". It will explain what I mean.
Chris.
point 1:
India is not the largest population as a nation.
point 2:
you obviously missed the recent discovery that NASA’s data on global temperatures shows that 4 of the 10 hottest years were before WW2 (world war 2) being in the 1930′s.
point 3:
recent research has the global temperature increasing by only 2 degrees Fahrenheit due to co2 emissions and breathing over the next 10 years.
potential solution: sending you to India or possibly China
If you didn’t procreate so much it would make things better. Every time you breathe you are emitting CO2 which is warming up the earth. So the only solution to solve this problem is to stop having children and quit breathing.
Too damn difficult. With a billion and more for a population? And still more to be born there every day? I don’t think it’s going to happen because the education isn’t there. The money required just to educate is a phenomenal amount!!
Educating them isn’t a guarantee either. Just because they know doesn’t mean they will follow it. The infrastructure isn’t there for a more viable means of transportation, electricity, heat source for food, etc.
Then there’s China!! Oly Mackeral Andy; what a cauldron!
We (that is the four billion in the rest of the world) would have to educate the common man there as well …I don’t think it’s feasible.I know we need it now. I know we needed it two decades ago, but I just don’t see it happening. I believe we have a better chance of seeing God before that happens.
According to the peer reviewed scientific literature if we are to have any chance at all of stopping Global Warming we must reduce the world wide carbon dioxide output to less than one tenth of what it is today.
Traffic rules, taxes on cars, and population control will not get you the reductions in carbon dioxide output that you need.
All that you accomplish with rules that restrict the ability of people to live their lives is their resentment toward you and the loss of your own ability to have any influence over policymaking in that country.
In a Democracy you get voted out of office very quickly.
In a Dictatorship you are removed in a coup d’etat.
The only way that you will have any hope of achieving reductions in carbon dioxide output to levels less than one tenth of what they are today is to replace energy produced by fossil fuels with a source that is approximately equal to or less in cost that does not produce carbon dioxide emissions.
There are only two sources of energy that do not produce carbon dioxide emissionsthat are approximately equal to or less in cost compared with the cost of fossil fuels.
Those sources are wind energy and nuclear energy.
Wind energy has a current cost of production of approximately 4 cents per kilowatt hour and nuclear energy has a cost of production of approximately 3.8 cents per hour(1).
The wind does not always blow when you need it. Wind energy is a good supplemental source of energy but in a grid electric system you need a source of energy that is more reliable.
That leaves you with nuclear energy as your only other source.
To reduce pollution and carbon dioxide emissions in India you need to build many more nuclear power plants to replace power that is generated by fossil fuels, in particular power that is generated by coal.
Currently France generates over 80% of its electricity by the use of nuclear energy.
One of the big advantages of nuclear energy is that you have a large excess of generating capacity at night when there is relatively small demand for electricity.
The excess electricity that is produced at night can be used to charge the batteries in electric cars.
If you can replace the gasoline and diesel powered cars, motor scooters, trucks and buses with electric vehicles you will eliminate a great deal of the pollution and carbon dioxide emissions from those sources.
This will also be important for the preservation of the Taj Mahal which is currently being damaged by exhaust from motor vehicles.
The most common objection that I hear to nuclear power is the production of nuclear waste.
Nuclear fuel can be reprocessed to produce more fuel. This reduces the nuclear waste to almost zero.
In the United Sates we do not reprocess nuclear fuel rods because of political issues.
The primary political reason why we do not reprocess fuel rods in the United States is because one of the products of reprocessing is Plutonium which can be used to make nuclear weapons.
The pluronium can also be used as a nuclear fuel. It does not have to be used in weapons.
Also, the alternative to nuclear power plants is coal burning power plants.
Coal is contaminated with radioactive Uranium and Thorium.
The radioactive Uranium and Thorium is concentrated in the coal ash and some of it goes up the smoke stack with the fly ash.
Coal burning power plants in the United States produce over 2,000 tons of radioactive radioactive Uranium and Thorium waste every year!!!!(2)
Coal burning power plants in the United States produce more radioactive waste than nuclear power plants!!!
Burning coal does not help you avoid the production of radioactive waste.
In the United States during the administration of President Jimmy Carter a plan was developed to build over 2,000 nuclear power plants by the year 2000.
The purpose of that plan was to make the United States energy independent from the unreliable sources of oil in the middle east and reduce the amount of money available for those oil suppliers to fund Muslim terrorists.
Terrorism is a problem that affects many countries in the world. In the United States the most dramatic example of that was when Muslim terrorists hijacked several passenger airliners and flew them into the World Trade Center.
In India there have been a number of bombings by Muslim terrorists and of course there has been a long history of Muslim terrorism in the Kashmir.
A change to nuclear power plants for energy production, and away from oil and other fossil fuels by the major industrial powers of the world is the only way that we will have a chance at achieving the huge reduction in carbon dioxide output that is needed if we are to have any chance at all of stopping Global Warming.
A change to nuclear power plants will have the added benefit that it will reduce the world demad for oil to a very great extent.
The dramatic reduction in world oil demand will have the added beneficial result of reducing the money that is available for the oil exporting countries to fund Muslim terrorism.
have God turn the heat on the sun down
have to use vehicles that runs on current now but in future we have to use solar energy
Recycle conserve energy by getting high efficent appliances and vehicles. Bike around town. Its one less car making smoke.
As Global warming is a scam big enough to make even the most dedicated Nigerian 419 scammer jealous, there’s no point in bothering to try.
i think it is not just one country, i think it’s a worldwide thing if each country can all recyle, stop using oil, gas, coal, and if each country can all start to find ways to make cars that run on alternative materials you know edge each other on like the race to the moon. We can as a world reduce global warming.
Who cares about India?
I think there are three essential ways that you can participate in helping the environment and prevent the effects of global warming from getting any worse.
1.) Learn to use less energy. Use energy saving light bulbs over incandescent ones. Drive less, bicycle †o wherever you want to go. If enough people do this, you will get rid of much of your pollution problems.
2.) Encourage population control. have abortion clinics easily available in every neighborhood. Encourage people to use birth control, have less children and to have abortions. Punish families that have more than two children, reward families that have one child, and give substantial incentives to stay childless to couples who don’t have any children.
3.) Organize massive protest rallies in the country to stop your government from developing at the cost of the environment. Try and shut down your cities and towns as a protest against the fast development of free markets in India which only increase energy demand which only increases pollution.
If enough Indians are conscientious and really care about the environment and what they are doing to the global climate all around the world, they can stop the machine of development that has wracked that country. Just remember that you have friends on the other side of the globe that are on your side and will do anything they can to help you keep up the good work.
Use & promote FFI products that are growing in popularity globally. They reduce emissions by up to 75% while improving MPG.
just keep leading and setting examples
