Is the air pollution bad in the winter in the urban area you reside in?

I *rarely* have respiratory problems, and if I do it is in the Spring with allergies. But last winter and this winter in the SF Bay Area I have had both allergy and cold symptoms, I think because the air pollution is so bad here right now because this January we have hardly had any rain and the air is dirty from vehicle emissions and burning wood.
Granted, there is too much dust in my apartment but that will by gone by this Thursday when I have professional cleaners clean my place way better than I do, but the last few weeks I have had to fight off a head cold from moving down into my chest like it did last year.
I think that the local Bay Area media is avoiding covering the terrible winter air quality.

Conservatives, do you realize that are other reasons to cut pollution besides Global Warming?

Fine. Go ahead and don’t believe in Global Warming, archeology, or biology. But there are other more immediate reasons to cut pollution: holes in the ozone causing cancer, smog conditions leading to increased rates of asthma and allergies, rivers with inedible fish, and the destruction of the habitats of animals that YOU enjoy hunting.

Heck, you could even be against pollution for efficiency reasons. Anytime a company dumps something in the trash or pumps it into our atmosphere it is wasted energy, just like radiant heat or vibration is wasted energy.

How important are honey bees to our environment?

It has been said that the honey bee population has decreased alot over the past few years. I have read an article which said that some type of virus may be the reason. Couldn’t this play a big role in our environment? Could this be part of the reason why allergies our on the increase among Americans? I’m just not sure exactly how it could affect the pollen counts. Honey bees are seldom seen anymore. And now its dealing with pests such as Yellow Jackets and wasps. Since the population of these two insects is soaring in our area! I would much rather have the honey bees!
