How long do I have to boil toilet water to make it sanitary?
Bottled water isn’t exactly enviromentally friendly, so I’m trying to find a low cost alternative.
What do I do with my used water filter cartridge?
Okay, so I bought a Pur water filter pitcher so that I would stop buying so much bottled water, with the intention to be more environmentally friendly.
The time just came to replace the cartridge for the first time. What do I with the old cartridge? Can it be recycled at all? I don’t like thorwing things in the trash if I don’t have to.
Does our increasing demand for bottled water also drive up the cost of oil?
Since plastic bottles are made from petroleum products, is our ‘thirst’ for bottled water also helping to drive up the price of oil? Or is this not a factor?
Why do people who drink bottled water complain about the price of gas?
Gas in my country has just hit .00 a litre. Bottled water is free from the tap but people buy it in bottles for .50 a litre. Then they complain to me about gas prices while they are drinking it. Are people that stupid?

Is bottled water really so bad for the environment?
There is talk of banning the sale of bottled water in some places, but is it really all that bad for the environment? They say it’s all about the plastic waste and the impact of transportation on global climate change, but what about bottled soft drinks? Milk in plastic containers? What about the styrofoam that meat is packaged with? It’s a lot worse for the environment than plastic because of the gases ceated during the manufacturing process. It’s hard to think of any product that isn’t wrapped in plactic. What is the big deal about bottled water?

What is the environmentally correct stance of drinking bottled water?
Ok, this is a bit tongue in cheek, but it came up in a lively discussion on the pros and cons of drinking 8 cups of water a day.
Is is environmentally irresponsible to drink so much bottled water? Shouldn’t we be more concerned with conserving water? are there viable alternatives?
Don’t drop kick me, just wanted to know what others think. No, this is not 100% serious, just having a good old fashioned conversation/debate with a good friend.
But, what do the water conversation people say about it?
thnx!
What do you do with your empty water bottle?
I know a lot of people prefer bottled water over tap water. My question is what effect do all those plastic bottles have on our environment?
Isn’t it counterproductive to claim bottled water is cleaner and better for you when the smog from the bottling company is harmful to us and the plastic from the empty bottles usually don’t get recycled?
I just can’t figure out why people prefer bottled water. It’s not even purified usually.
