air pollution
by vk-red

Question: How does air pollution cause lung cancer?
Okay so I know that smoking destroys your cilia on your epithelial tissue. So knowing that can you give me a detailed explanation of how air pollution causes lung cancer.

For example:
Air pollution causes lung cancer because the particles are trapped iin the lung and become infected with cancer.

Now I know that isnt the answer.
Thanks soooo much for your help.

Answer:

If Humans who create pollution are like a cell in the body, is it a cancer cell?

If the Earth is like a body, and each organism on earth is like a cell inside that body, but one organism (a Human) creates pollution and harms the environment (the body) to the detriment of all other cells in that body, then is that organism like a cancer?

How do our lifestyles have to change to safely support 10 billion humans on one planet?

Economic environmentalism – the idea that the economy SHOULD grow to the point of maximum benefit, and stabilize there. Beyond that point, economic growth is as dangerous as cancer. Think of a reef’s ecology. They survive unchanging for centuries with no ill effects. Can’t we do the same?
Aw, come on, people, it’s not THAT hard! Just start naming useful steps, like replacing petroleum powered cars with _______!

Conservatives, do you realize that are other reasons to cut pollution besides Global Warming?

Fine. Go ahead and don’t believe in Global Warming, archeology, or biology. But there are other more immediate reasons to cut pollution: holes in the ozone causing cancer, smog conditions leading to increased rates of asthma and allergies, rivers with inedible fish, and the destruction of the habitats of animals that YOU enjoy hunting.

Heck, you could even be against pollution for efficiency reasons. Anytime a company dumps something in the trash or pumps it into our atmosphere it is wasted energy, just like radiant heat or vibration is wasted energy.
