How do you balance conservation of water usage (during a drought) with requirements to rinse recycleables?

Which do you feel is more important? Conserving water during a drought and foregoing recycling items that must be washed or rinsed out prior to recycling, or, using scarce water resources to prevent potential recyclables from taking space in a landfill?

Which is most important?

What can under developed countries do to prevent a water shortage in the near furture?

I have been reading and doing some reserach on the present water conditions in under developed countries. I see the problems that have and continue to cause this. What if anything can the governments or the industrial world do to prevent this?

Problems arise from, over irrigation and drought. Also it takes 1,000 tons of water to create 1 ton of grain.

Is it just me or and we not looking ahead and realising that a lack of water now, leads to a lack of food in the future?

Any suggestions?

What should Americans do about the impending water crisis?

We have suffered drought throughout the country recently and some states are worrying about running dry. What are some ideas you have for ways to solve the impending crisis? Should water be a commodity like oil and gas and other minerals? Are desalination and reuse good ideas? What role should economics play in water policy?

I am just curious about the thoughts out there on water and its future.
