Why don’t environmentalists buy rain forest land instead of pollution credits?
If the land is cheap enough for the poorest of people to buy and then spend even more money harvesting, then it should be affordable enough.
And as for pollution, well I would imagine that deforestation is just as bad, especially in a biome of such diversity.
what is the resource and/or financial conservation when you duplex in an office or school environment?
I’m working on a list for work about the savings to the business/school and to the environment. The question is what and how much is saved when you duplex print instead of simplex print. Obviously, paper, trees and money are saved, but how much? Numbers really make people stop and think. Thank you!
What is the reason for water conservation?
I say that its all about money, since filtering, desalination, chlorination, and transportation of seawater is possible. The only way water can be destroyed is through electrolysis or other chemical process
Even if water evaporates, it will not leave the atmosphere.
Is our addiction to the private automobile worth all the death, air pollution, energy waste, and money that it?
Is our addiction to the private automobile worth all the death, air pollution, energy waste, and money that it costs?
10 points to those who can answer this fully.
Ecology Major/career question.?
I’ve been considering majoring in Ecology. I’ve also been looking at some of the careers available and they all look fascinating. But I have yet to see one that pays more than 30k per year. Now I don’t care about money too much but I would like to at least live comfortably if I have a graduate degree. Do all ecology jobs pay that poorly?
Who stands to gain the most financially with the embrace of climate change?
Let’s be realistic here. Climate Change/Global Warming has a huge economic factor. Someone stands to rake in the money. So who are those people and are their motivations suspect because of their financial gains?
What about the states who do not participate in recycling???
I was wondering…since we are obviously polluting our selves off of our planet…slowly but surly…..and the government is supposedly so concerned about it…..WHY ARE THERE STILL STATES THAT DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN RECYCLING????
I looked for a list of the states who do not recycle and couldnt find one but I travel to Tenn often and know that Tenn doesnt do its share in recyling. Everyone throws away plastic bottles, glass bottles, and cans…everyone in Tenn just throws them into the freaking garbage. INTO THE GARBAGE!
So what gives? If the government is as concerned about the planet that we are slowly killing…why does the government not MANDATE every single state to recycle?
Another thing I thought about…you know how everyone is talking about plastic water bottles? Wouldnt it be a GREAT IDEA if the bottle return machines at grocery stores accepted the water bottles?! Even tho they wouldnt give money for returning them-it would be a great outlet to recycle them!
What are the Best places to find recyling?
Looking to make alittle more money. So I was trying to get ideas of where the best place (i.e malls ex.) Please if you know of anyway I can come up on recycle it would be appreciated! Thanks
What are the odds of the us successfully combating climate change?
For the record, I believe in AGW.
I have no faith that humanity will be able to combat it because of who we actually are.
Have there been any studies on the odds of actually succeeding in combating climate change?
Are people wanting me to throw all my money on a horse that’s likely to finish in last place?
Well, at least one guy with multiple profiles answered this one twice, possibly three times.
What do you think about the people who are only doing green things for money and/or to improve their image?
Like they only want to know green tips to save their money, or are recycling just to get a few bucks, or are acting green to appear better to other people.
What do you think about that?
