Methane is released when someone farts. Some proclaim methane contributes to the theory of climate change. So should farting be considered air pollution? If carbon taxes are started should we have to pay to fart?

West Virginia has all sorts of pollution.
The air pollution from the coal industry there is mostly underground however.

I know what living things contribute to air pollution but non-living I do not.

Volcanoes can contribute since when they erupt they emit very large amounts of CO2(CO2 is poisonous in large quantities) , and other gases such as sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, carbon monoxide all of which are poisonous.

Question: How much does trash give off air pollution?
I have tied to find it but no luck

If you could find how many pounds total in a a year or a percentage of air pollution total. either or will do.

In an ideal world having a group of true scientists investigating a problem from different angles should produces a better outcome. This happens nearly every day in real science where collaboration produces great science.

I once worked in a pure Chemistry group which shared information with a Biology group and we got some fine outcomes. But this was away from the politics of the Environment where many other factors come into play.

For one all sorts of people are calling themselves scientists ?? We have a fellow in Australia who is a paleontologist running around making all sorts of predictions. The media love him and he was made Australian of the year. A great media performer but not a scientist. Similar to Al Gore and David Suzuki .. show ponies ..

And what is pollution ?? The media are now calling carbon dioxide emission carbon pollution ? Crazy stuff

The latest Australian of the year is a true scientist and a Noble prize winner . he is hoping to see improvements in Science education .. we must all agree.

When people can make sense of the hysterical scare stories on the ABC and Fairfax press we may get to the ideal world your question implies .. we should have better prediction when scientists work together and that will happen again once this silly era is over and the media move on to something else.

Question: Is air pollution decreasing over time?
Sure there are more people around than a century ago, but the EPA standards continue to get tighter and tighter. Does anyone have any reliable information or a source that confirms either way? I know this is a huge Obama/Gore type of issue, just wondering if statistically, air pollution is decreasing over time?

statistically it is.
go check the history of the peppered moth.
that’s a natural barometer of pollution.

however, the US is about 5% of the world.
add in Canada and it gets up to maybe 6%

There are also some European countries that have good environmental records.
however, around the world, there are many places where pollution is getting far worse.
overall, around the world, pollution is increasing.

Question: what would be a good cartoon on air pollution?
I have to draw a cartoon about air pollution on a small poster for chemistry class. It’s part of a group project i have to do. my teacher said it should have some humor, but not “bad” humor. I had one idea, but no humor. and i want it to be good. like, i want it to , well, look better than the other group too. Hey the better it looks, the better grade me and my group get.

SO yeah, can anyone help me out on this. Any ideas on what i should draw. it has to make sense and be a little funny. Nothing made up. It has to be about AIR POLLUTION. Thanks ^___^

two birds sitting on a tree branch talking to one another. Make sure the air looks polluted (smog, black smoke,etc). Show a bunch of cars, smoke stacks, anything that causes pollution, IN THE BACKGROUND!
