Can a person actually SEE pollution particles? I live next to 2 power plants and see particles falling?

Each power plant is about 10 miles away, one to the East one to the West. I can see particles when I look at the dark tree across the road. They move like snow in the wind but sooo much smaller. No one believes me since my eyesight is perfect and they need glasses. Maybe I’m seeing pollen, but I saw it all winter too.

Is there a difference from natural and man-made pollution?

For example pollution coming out of a volcano causing the most fertile soil in the world compared to soil around a coal power plant. How about the trees near highways. Do volcanoes cause acid rain?

What is the most devastating ecological damage one town can do to a neighboring town legally?

Suppose two towns have a rivalry — what is the most damage you can do to another town in terms of ecology for the least amount of money that is still legal. (opening a polluting power plant or factory takes a large amount of capital, for example)

How much pollution from a coal burning power plant settles in the immediate surrounding area?

I hope to move abroad to Lamma Island in Hong Kong. However, on the island there sits a giant coal firing power plant – about 300 metres away from where I plan to live. I’m really sensitive to pollution and I don’t know how much pollution would settle around the plant and how much would be carried away further afield. Any helpful answers would be much appreciated.
