what is a strategy to balance the need to conserve and protect the environment at a mine, with the need to mine minerals? :S
this may sound stupid >< , but i never learnt about mines before.. so i dont really understand much about them.. so how do the chemicals from the mines leak into streams?

Olin Mathesion polluted an old railbed with mercury, lead , arsenic & other dioxons. They want to turn it into a hiking and biking trail, we are haveing alot of water problems with wells, springs, streams, ponds & health problems. There were NO environmental studies done by the Town of Saltville , Virginia.

I am 41, when we were kids everyone played outside. Kids went shooting, fishing, poaching, cycling, rambling, played in all the woods, meadows and streams. Is it much better for the environment now that they all stay indoors and play computer games?

Or not? Why not?
