Q&A: How did man, who climbed down from the trees a few millions years ago, cause climate change?

Question: How did man, who climbed down from the trees a few millions years ago, cause climate change?
Climate change, something that has been occurring for 4.95 billion years before the first progenitors of man climbed down from the trees and exhaled his first carbon rich, global warming breath?

Answer:

Answer by Yeech
Something as insignificant as humans cannot cause climate change. It is natural and has been going up and down for “zillions” of years. It is a HOAX.

Q&A: What type of conifers survive in the hot climate and how are the neem trees in lawns ?

Question: What type of conifers survive in the hot climate and how are the neem trees in lawns ?
What type of conifers can survive in the climate where temperatures can reach 40degrees Celsius and how are neem trees in lawns and do they harm the plant around them?

Answer:

Answer by Soilguy
There aren’t a lot of trees that put up with those temperatures on a constant basis, but the pines of the SE United States, including loblolly(Pinus taeda), longleaf (P. palustris), slash pine (P. elliottii) and pond pine (P. serotina), among others, can stand it.

Q&A: How would the regional climate changes affect the growth of trees?

Question: How would the regional climate changes affect the growth of trees?
How would the regional climate changes affect the growth of trees? How is this important in dendroclimatology i dont get it.

Answer:

Answer by Sequi
Basically, trees grow better when the climate is good for tree growth (right temperature, adequate rain fall, right amount of sunlight, etc.) Trees don’t grow well when the weather conditions are poor for tree growth (drought, too hot or too cold, etc.)

Dendroclimatology is the study of determining past climates from studying trees (usually tree rings.) Since trees grow more when growing conditions are good, the tree rings for that year will be bigger. Tree rings for a bad year will be thinner (less growth). Therefore, by examining tree ring sizes, and combining that information with other climate proxy records, scientists can approximate what the climate was like.

What's better for the environment, paper or plastic?

There are downsides to both of them.
Paper comes from the trees, but plastic doesn’t decompose.
You can get the cloth reusable bags, but what do the people who won’t get those do?
When your at the grocery store, which should you chose? Which is better for the environment? Better for us?

Is there too much pollution when it comes to making/recycling paper products?

Some say that we should use stryofoam instead of paper products because of the pollution that is produced with the making of paper products, as well as the destruction of trees and the animals that live within these trees. Does this outweigh the extremely long biodegrading process of styrofoam?

With all of the global warming speculation out, let's get to the facts behind this. Why is littering bad?

Why is it important to pick up trash? What affects does littering have?

Why is it important to remove non-native plant species?

What is wrong with our current ecosystems? (any of the many)

Why are rain forests important to have?

Are we in danger of losing all our trees?

How many sheets of computer paper, toilet paper, paper towels, and tissue paper can we make from one tree?

Brace yourselves… with your responses this discussion will get very interesting!

Is there a difference from natural and man-made pollution?

For example pollution coming out of a volcano causing the most fertile soil in the world compared to soil around a coal power plant. How about the trees near highways. Do volcanoes cause acid rain?

What is the effect of books on the environment?

What is the effect of books on the environment (how they are made, how many trees it takes, etc.)?

How do I get my school to go green?

This summer my friend and I really got into the whole going green thing. We have recycled even more, planted a tree, hugged trees (lol), and started doing those small things around the house. I love helping out with the environment and since school is starting I want my school to go green. How can I make this idea expand and work? I have thought of putting recycling bins outside and have small bins in classes. Also maybe turining off lights to conserve energy. Is it expensive to get solar panels for the school. My middle school did it, but i honestly do not know how. If you have any ideas to help me out that would be great.
