I have to do a project on a comparison, but I have heard that it is better to grow new trees then recycling old paper? Is recycling really good or is it bad for the environment?

I use public transport, I cycle, I don’t waste water, I don’t waste electricity, I reuse paper bags instead of using plastic bags. I conserve and try to recycle bottles and cartons. I save paper. I love trees.
What do you do?

I’m writing a research paper on Energy Efficiency. If consumers recycle, then less trees are cut down. Which ultimately means there is more oxygen produced. I want to know the positive effects of having more oxygen in the environment.
