Question: How does vegetation affect the climate of the Amazon Basin?
How does the vegetation affect the climate of the Amazon Basin?

Answer:

Answer by cauliflower
Vegetation has many effects on climate. Transpiration is a major process in the Amazon basin. Transpiration is the process of a plant releasing water vapor into the atmosphere. Vegetation also allows the soil to hold water. The two of these effects help offset the dry season. Vegetation also prevents soil erosion, and keeps nutrients in the soil, without vegetation, the soil would be more infertile than it already is.

In terms of climate and vegetation, list at least three ways Earth was different during the time of the dinosaurs, compared to the present

Answer:

Answer by David W
1. Globally much warmer.
2. Flowering plants make their first appearance and flourish.
3. Ocean currents are dramatically different due to drastically different continent arrangement. Ocean currents contribute to climate.

1) In Which community would organisms mostly likely have evolved to respond to different photoperiods?
a. coral reef
b. savanna
c. temperate forest
d. abyssal

2) Moving along altitudinal and latitudinal gradients, you’ll find the same sequence of biomes. There are equivalent changes along the gradient in which of the following except
a. temperature
b. humidity
c. vegetation
d. day length

3) Which would be most helpful in solving the world’s environmental problems?
a. increased agricultural productivity
b. increased life expectancy
c. more food from the oceans
d. decreased human birth rates
I don’t think it’s a or b but i’m not sure.

Last question: The pattern of dispersion for a certain species of kelp is clumped. The pattern for a species of snail living on the kelp would be…
a. absolute
b. clumped
c. homogenous
d. uniform
I think it’s d but I’m not sure.

Thanks
