Is water pollution one reason why we are in a water shortage?

Does anyone know any enviormental issues in the Bay Area(California)? We are doing a year long project on it, we need 25 hours of commuinty serivces associted with this project with a supervisor and it needs to be something done about this enviromental topic issue.

Anyway, now that Obama will be our next President, will things begin to turn around for the environment? Will more attention be paid to Global Warming?
