what can i do to help save our environment, cut down on pollution, and inspire others to do so as well?

what would be an effective way to urge congress to pass laws that are eco-friendly and help our nation go green, recycle, reuse, and halt pollution?

how can i, as an individual, make a difference to our planet, and inspire my friends and family to contribute to being eco-friendly and going green?

do you know of any websites that will give me good tips on going green and inspiring other people to go green as well?

this means A LOT to me. thank you very much.

Recycle and whenever you see someone not doing so tell them that they should too. Use energy efficient appliances. Don’t drive around to much, walk instead. invest your time in planting trees and stuff like that.

I bought compact fluorescent bulbs that I gave away to people in my department at work – along with a description of what they would save, how CFL worked, how it would help the environment. This got some discussion going and more people using them.

as an individual you can make a difference by requesting your city to use bio-friendly buses, seperate trash, recycle what you can compost the rest,if you drive try walking when permisable.and thats just for starters.

You can inspire friends and family by creating practical stuff out of things that would otherwise have been discarded. You can blog about your eco experiences and support other eco movers by introducing their websites or blogs.

I enjoy highlighting entrepreneurs who have successfully make a living out of abandoned material aka waste and I call them "Creative Recyclers". You will find many links to their websites on my GreenBeing Nancy blog at the following link:

To make it easy for others to do the same, I have also provided free pictorial tutorials or links to others who provide them.

I also encourage others to recycle their green waste by providing information on propagating plants on my "GreenBeings Invasion" website at the following link:

One of the best things that you can do is to encourage people to pass laws that ban the use of coal to produce electricity.

Coal is contaminated with radioactive Uranium and Thorium.

When coal is burned the some of the Uranium and Thorium go up the smokestack with the fly ash.

The remaining Uranium and Thorium is concentrated in the coal ash.

In some ash the concentration of radioactive Uranium is so high that is has been considered as a source for Uranium for nuclear power plants!

The coal ash is piled on the ground in enormous mounds.

The dust blows off the mound and further contaminates the countryside with radioactive Uranium and Thorium.

Also, the radioactive Uranium breaks down. One of the products of that breakdown is radioactive Radon gas which drifts out to the atmosphere.

If you can help stop the use of coal as a fuel that is one of the best things that you can do for the environment.

I can’t tell you what to do, but I can tell you what I do…

I plant trees. Lots of them. I have been involved in over 5,000 trees and shrubs planted.

Well if we walk were possible instead of using our cars the whole time,

    Recycle
Re-use plastic carrier bags instead of just buying new ones the whole time

If you turn of appliances fully when they are not in use instead of leaving them on standby

Use CFL bulbs(you will also save on electricity bills.

If you can use a wood pellet burner along with solar panels to heat you house its cheaper in the long run and is more friendly to the environment but that’s only realistic depending really depends on your own situation, income etc

    Use energy efficient appliance

Turn your washing machine down to 30

And make sure you thermostat isn’t up too high

Also buy local produce were possible

Their are loads of ways you can do your bit for the environment including the cleaning products you use which contain lots of unnecessary chemicals and allergens that can be very harsh on you lungs.
