Question: What is the climate like in the Philippines in August?
What is the climate like in the Philippines in August? Can it be quite cloudy? How often does it rain? Would a British person be able to get a good tan?
Thanks.

You can check the conditions at Manila & any other major Philippine city at this link: http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/RPXX0017_c.html
Right now it is about the mid of summer. And I think starting & around June, July, August & even Sept are the rainy season. Depending on what part of the islands you go to, on the average I believe the islands get anywhere from 10-20, even more tropical storms per year. So obviously many of them occur at those months.
But about getting a tan, you still would get a good one but as I have said depending on where you are in the 7,100 plus islands that make up the Philippines.
august is part of the rainy season (which starts around june). typhoons are expected. you will still get a good tan when it’s not raining because when the sun is out, it’s gets really hot (and humid!!!)
August is within rainy season. Actually, it’s summer in the Philippines right now. (March-early June) Then mid-June it starts to rain, usually ends in September. With the climate change, I’m not surprised that it’s raining hard right now…in summer.
The climate here is always hot and humid. Same in August as in January. Tan? The sun will burn your a.s.s. up quick. Better pace yourself on that. If you are here 3-4 months you will look like Filipino skin color if you don’t cover up.
Hot in August
It doesnt matter where you go, unless the mountains , its HOT HOT . Tan, even the Phils. dont want that, you will be burnt if your not careful, you can get serious sunburn out on the water!
Rainy
Wet and rainy.
Your lily white skin would soon turn to tomato red and your chances of getting skin cancer would be greatly enhanced. So take care.
if you like the sun, come on march to april (just not this year). august will be like the second month of the rainy season. oh, it will be like gloomy london minus the coldness. on the bright side, you can avail of many off peack season sales of resorts.
