What is your opinion of what affect we have on the environment?

I would just like to get your open answer on what affect you think that we have on the environment. Are we making it worse? Better? Or whatever.

Absolutely everything we do, use, buy, consume or transport has an effect on the environment. Energy is created and consumed with almost everything we do. We don’t always know the whole impact of things we use or buy. Most people agree we should try to conserve the rain forest but aren’t aware that all the sudsy soaps and shampoos we use are causing more clear cutting to plant palm orchards. Sodium Laurel Sulfate and it’s derivatives are made from palm oil, and it is in almost everything that lathers. The sad part is suds don’t clean, they just give us the feeling of cleaning. All our out of season produce that is grown in South and Central America is likely grown in an area that used to be a rain forest.

People seem to think all this environmental stuff is to save woodland creatures. It’s about saving humans. We are tearing down our life support system and we don’t see to care.

We are affecting it. We don’t always know how or how much or which direction we are affecting it, but we are affecting it.

Are we making it worse?–Who can say?

It’s too late to change most of the bad the Humanity did to our Planet. I highly recommend to watch "Home", a movie by Yann Arthus Bertrand, a famous photgrapher to get plenty of infomation on the subject.
Having said that, there are still ways to try to stop this process by just being a little less sel-fish to others and mostly to our children.
Stop buying trucks if you don’t need it for your daily job; stop taking unecessary flights; stop eating processed food; recycle-recycle-recycle and just stop considering the Earth as if it was a consumable.
Together we can make the difference.

V r making the environment worst…for eg..wasting water n electricity..deforestation which lead to the extinction of some of the exclusive species of animals…emissions of poisonous gases into the air..throwing domestic n industrial waste in the water which affects the marine animals..n there r many more reasons..but the point is that v r directly or indirectly affecting the environment n making it go worst day by day

Consider this for example you have 100,000,000 cattle and millions of cars.

One you can eat but the other not.

Next over population is another problem.

Soil quality eroded because of chopped down forests.

Forests which will never come back in places.

Next valuable land taken by cars and highways.

Logging contaminating streams and silt with good soil washed out to Sea.

Man has been using the environment for his benefits, and we must realize that we cannot continue to harm our surroundings without first harming ourselves. Take the case of water, 3/4th of the earth is covered with water but less than 1% of it is usable and thoughtless use of this limited water is now causing scarcity. Its time we looked at our consumption patterns and consciously bring about a change in the way we use water.
